The following sets of figures will be from my New Superflow 110 machine- for the majority of. Previous figures - which will be indicated- were tested on Janspeeds Superflow 110 and there are small differences from one machine to another, especially as the Janspeed is some 15yrs older!! the differences are only small.
There are many Japanese car heads I have modified that I have not flow tested due to time or cost restraints, such as the Celica turbo 6 cylinder, a large number of Skyline heads of differing types, Celica VVTi, Pulsar 4wd turbo, Datsun 240/260Z, Honda accord 2.2, so even if there are no flow test comparisons, it does not mean I haven't done one.
Toyota(Yamaha) 2 ZZ-GE, Celica, Lotus Elise 111R. Inlet- 34mm valves. All std parts, 82mm bore, my flowbench.

23.33 48.1 71.96 94.33 114.1 130 138.43 141.49 142.41
As above, fully modded. As this head is near perfect in its design/manufacture, there is not alot to gain. But all gains add up when optomised with other improvements elsewhere.
23.05 48.36 72.8 96.83 117.8 132.8 140.53 144.26 147.96

SUBARU IMPREZA, generation 6. Inlet- 36mm valves. Another nicely 'developed' design that is perfect, years of practical knowledge/development paying off- A pity the same cannot be said of the exhaust port execution!!!!! All std parts. My flowbench.
24.94 51.71 79.48 109.7 135.4 150.5 158.75 163.3 166.1 165.2
As above, slightly modded, nothing 'altered' offered any improvement. Fitted with American brand uprated valves- unfortunately the valve shape was not ideal and they lost flow!! attempts were made to reshape, but to no avail.
25.1 52.22 79.9 108.76 131.9 147.7 156.9 162.4 165.2 165.2
As above, EXHAUST flow, this was most interesting/rubbish at the same time. In a bid to keep the exh manifold compact, the second cylinder in each 2 cyl casting has the exit hole severely offset from the centre line of the valves for said cylinder. This makes for a terrible flow variation/loss between the cylinders and thus a major negative for maximising power/engine efficiency. The following shows the considerable flow variation. All std parts. My flowbench.
19.87 44.25 68.1 87.5 96.85 103.2 105.3 109.1 111.2 112.65
19.87 42.95 63.2 80.4 87.85 92.6 94.9 95.8 95.8 95.8
As above, fully modded, fitted with new 'Inconel' material Valves, std dia. Serious work was done to help correct the poorer flowing cylinders, the final result very satisfactory having made more flow overall while minimising the cylinder differences. As I found out after finishing the two cyls, if I left out 1 feature of my work on the better cylinder, the balance would be closer.

As above, fully modded and fitted with New Larger 27.2mm performance valves. The flow from the mid to top range could easily be higher but the exh gasket restricted the ability to open the exit, the customer was unable to deal with any possible alterations at his end.

As above, mildly reworked, this head is already highly efficient. Janspeed flowbench are the first figs, the second set on my flowbench prior to continuing/finishing the job, shows the difference in readings in the two machines prior to the final figures.

As above, unfortunately, I was unable to retest the std port flow on my machine as porting had already taken place, so the following is the finished item and fitted with new larger 31.5mm performance valves- of the tests done with the std item on modded port, the gains with the larger item were minimal but the reliability factor makes the purchase worthwhile.
